Season 2, Episode 3

We’re back in San Antonio with the Montelongo replacement cast again.  In S2E1 they were proud of being both incredible businesspeople and also being cheapskates at the same time.  This time, we’re watching the guys waste money on petty games between themselves and their wives, and their cheap contractors stole their cabinets.

For some reason, it was not a big deal when the wives stole their workers, but when they stole the wives’ workers, it was time to fire the contractor.  Additionally, for some reason, they got the beer barn chicks to pressure wash the house and clean up trash piles in the yard (I guess they are too cheap for a dumpster).  I still fail to see how their presence is going to “break up homes” as the wives claim, unless it will cause them to realize they married complete losers.

In what appears to be a common theme between the San Antonio and Atlanta replacement casts, it seems that the Montelongos also break into their houses before buying.  At least they didn’t make it so obvious as the ATL cast.

I, for one, am incredibly disappointed in A&E.  I watch a number of their shows, but after seeing what they’ve done to the Trademark Crew, I just turn off the TV.

It’s quite deceptive that A&E is airing Season 1 before each Season 2 episode.  We see a good version of Flip This House and then get stuck with absolute trash.

What a joke…Season 2 is going to be in the toilet for A&E. The more I find out about this, the more I think A&E’s produceres are full of crap thinking the “new look” will win over audiences.

Guess I’ll be deleting the “new” show from my Season Pass on my Tivo.

  2. Dani Bishop says:

I am so disappointed and disgusted with A&E. My husband and i simply loved the show and enjoyed watching it every Sunday together, as did my kids. This second season is complete crap and at least the ATlanta group has some personality. The TX group is completely laughable. The Trademark people had class and were professional. I, myself work in the construction industry and it is nice to see a group of people who have character, class, knowledge of their trade, and overall professionalism. I must say that this season is a HUGE disappointment and it makes me ill to watch it. Well, A&E you screwed over the big dawgs in South Carolina and now you are screwing yourself b/c no one is watching! sorry for ya!

  3. David says:

I recently discovered “Flip This House” I guess I watched the good cast, i.e. Trademark, I loved the interaction and the construction was secondary. The San Antonio people? They make me want to turn the channel. I hope to see Trademark again.

I can’t even express how much I hate the San Antonio cast. How boring. They’re taking little houses and like he said, “putting lipstick on a pig” and selling them. Very disappointing. Very small time.

The main guy is such a chavanist and his wife is a moron to take it. They are exploiting what are probably illegal aliens by giving them jobs then shorting them on the pay. What a jerk.

When and where will the genious team of Trademark come back? I Tivo them and watch the same episodes over again. They are brilliant. They have style.

  5. John says:

Ok, I cant take it anymore. I tried to give the new season a shot, and just cant deal with Mr Montelongo’s arrogance anymore.

    Bring back Team Trademark!!!

  6. ill comm says:

These guys just suck (Montelongos), plain and simple. I won’t bother saying what’s been said time and time again on other blogs and sites, just wanted to add my vote to the tally of how horrible this season is.

I never got past the first episode of season 2, but now I’m going to be sure to watch it in sort of the way people watch Jerry Springer. HA! HA!

  7. MarcSans says:

I would like to say as a hispanic that I am ashamed of the Montelongos. They are unprofessional and a disgrace. It sickens me personnally to watch them and how they mistreat those that work for them. The Montelongos in San Antonio have a successfull remodeling company, but these Montelongos are not associated with them and because of the show we can see why. Sometimes you have to distance yourself I guess from the trash.

  8. carrin says:

Sorry, this new show just doesn’t do it for us. The actors appear to be some type of thugs, not professionals. Please, please, we want Trademark back! Richard and his employees are very professional and make very watchable Sunday television.

  9. Janelle says:

My husband and I were laughing at the new guys. If we wanted to watch girls in bikinis we’d watch The Man Show… If your show is about flipping houses do you really need girls in bikinis for ratings? That’s just sad. That’s not even the worst part.. the crew itself is just trash… lazy men… stupid women running around whining. I miss Richard and Ginger!

  10. Victoria says:

Hate the Texas crew (especially Armondo,) love the Atlanta crew (especially Shanni & Lamont,) would love to see more episodes with Trademark ( real class act!)

  11. jack says:

After watching last nights episode of the Montelongos “auction” house you folks should be ashamed of yourselves. As a reputable contractor in the Chicago area I personally found it a disgrace to all contractors nationwide. First the deck in the backyard was built with standard lumber and not treated lumber. It had downpoured the day before the painted it. The tiles in the shower were spray painted???? and it didnt look like epoxy to me. To top it all off spraying the lawn with a green dye to make it looke nice and laughing about it to boot? What a joke. I find the Montelongos to be a group of hacks that have absolutely no place in the construction/real estate business. And what about permits?? I never see a permit in any home they’re working in. Im sure if they had to get permits they would fail miserably. I sure do hope the lady who won the auction sues their asses off. I plan to send that resident a note detailing the shotty workmanship on her home. If this is what the producers of that show find funny I’d like to speak to one of them personally. A disgrace, an absolute disgrace.

  12. Kellie says:

Ya’ll just bring Richard BACK! Do us ALL a favor. Thanks

  13. Suzie says:

You mean the Montelongo’s aren’t taping anymore? Funny, I hadn’t noticed! Do you think he has hurt enough relationships yet? The way I see it, he will have a lot of money, his wife, and his son – and that’s it. It is like watching a dysfunctional family drama. He treats women badly – I don’t care what he buys his wife, he looks impossible to live with. that might be a good episode – Flip This Marriage – Montelong’s Divorce

  14. Rose says:

I am from San Antonio and ashamed of these jerks, how they portray our city. I have to say that everyone here hates them and are disgusted with Armando and his wife. I hope that the contractors see and hear how he belittles them and cheats them. It also bothers me how he mistreats his so call INTERN, but then again the guy is dumb putting up with Armando, I wish he would hear how Armando’s wife thinks how an idiot he is. I think that the guys from New Haven are very professionsl, I love to see their show. Maybe Armando and his wife should watch these guys and get lessons on how to treat and work with people. KEEP the guys from New Haven boot the Montelongos OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. AngelaFurlong says:

I enjoy the Trademark shows and I enjoy the Montelongos. I believe the Montelongos have taken skill and drama (as usual with television) and made a show that is fun and interesting and, if you are a house flipper, is informative also. I don’t think that Veronica sits back and takes Armando’s “abuse” like people are talking about. I think, if you’ve watched all of the shows, she normally gets her way. I believe the rest is for television “drama.” As for Trademark, I believe there is plenty of room for both shows to be successful.

  16. Montelongos says:

u guys suck the Montelongos rule you guys are just hatting on them

  17. Ekaterina says:

I watched the show with Montelongos ones, and the impression was: I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT PEOPLE! It was just a disaster. I never thought such a “business” is possible in USA. That’s a shame. And I think that no honest business will ever deal with them.

  18. trademark says:

the montalongos are just like all the other casts, they are ACTORS.half of them do not own theses houses nor do they actually sell them. these are shows that are only here for ratings so A&E can sell some commercial adds.

  19. carmen says:

All of these comments on how we treat one another should be a lesson for us all..what the Montelongos are doing such as cheating their workers w/ pay & belittling them is nothing new..many construction sites as well as independent business owners do this all the time..especially to minorities so who ever is pointing their finger @ them always remember 4 more are pointing @ you also!!!!

  20. Pam says:

I would never buy a property from the Montelongos especially the way Armondo treats those who work for him and his berating his employees with his foul language.
I was however, very impressed with how Richard Davis and Trademark Properties conducted business. Granted Richard sometimes uses foul language but he didn’t go around berating his employees.
The contrast between Armondo and Richard is Armondo lets his ego get in the way and run things where as with Richard this is business.
I hope to see Richard on TV again soon.
