WINNER, WINNER! $4M CRABHOUSE DINNER!

I just received word that the jury came back with a $4,000,000 verdict for Trademark Properties and Richard Davis in their dispute with A&E Television Networks.

Congratulations, Richard and the Team Trademark!

EDIT (3:52PM): The Charleston Post and Courier has an update-

A federal jury in Charleston awarded real estate investor Richard C. Davis more than $4 million in damages today in a trial stemming from the “Flip This House” reality television series.

Davis sued cable network A&E, saying he had an oral agreement with A&E to split revenues from the program he created. Davis, of James Island-based Trademark Properties Inc., said he was never paid.

A&E disputed that any agreement existed. Its lawyers declined to provide immediate comment on the ruling, which came after more than five hours of deliberation.

“I’m very pleased with the verdict,” said Mount Pleasant attorney Frank M. Cisa, who represented Davis. “These cases are very tough to prove.”

    What about Richard’s legal team?
I heard there were a slew of N.Y. legal experts… to defend A&E..
How many attorneys did RD have…..I heard only one….could this be true? If so, he did an AMAZING JOB..does anybody know for sure?

  5. Dave says:

    Congratulations!

So, is Trademark Properties off the air for good? The property flipping clowns they’re showing lately are sad.

Is there any word on starting up a new season? Truly loved watching the show.

  10. Vickie I says:

I am so happy for you guys. Our family has missed this show…I hope you continue to make more shows for us!! We are waiting!!!

  11. boyson says:

A&E has removed season 1 of FTH from the episode guide.

  12. Bill Church says:

Happy to see Richard and Trademark got justice. What A&E did to that show is criminal in it self.

Hope to see more of “The Real Deal” or whatever it’s called these days. Frankly, I think they should just move the show to the Internet and cut out the middleman. 🙂

  13. JJ says:

Armando has a blog site, of sorts:

    http://twitter.com/montelongo

Apparently he is still on the TV show, as he ‘just wrapped up the best episode ever’ and asks if anyone ‘wants to feature their house on the show’.

He also asked if people would rather watch him work in Texas, or Cali.

  14. Perry McKenzie says:

Congratulations! I’ve been following the Hooplah and was thrilled to see the good guys win this one! Throughout the show I appreciated Richard and the Crew’s dedication and love for Charleston and southern hospitality. The car and concern that everyone took when handling historic homes/buildings is also commendable, as a preservationist there is nothing better to see from our real estate professionals than this. Thank you!!!!

  15. Mondosux says:

Actually, if you read carefully, he says he’s “working on 2 new pilots” . That’s because he was fired from FTH a long time ago. He keeps talking about doing new shows, but they are just bullshit shows he’s shooting himself which will never be bought nor aired by anyone. He’s over.

  16. JJ says:

Actually, he referred to wrapping ‘the best episode of Flip This House,’ before he mentioned the two pilots.

Further, he still appears on the A&E site, unlike the confirmed ex-flippers.

It is also interesting to note that an executive producer of Dog The Bounty Hunter is suing A&E for lack of payment:

It seems A&E shares Mondo’s two-bit mentality of “get it for free somehow.”

You know what’s funny? I bet Armando would do the show for free, just to stay on the air. Got to keep patting himself on the back for all his cheap, revolting workmanship, tarnishing his reputation, and ensuring that no sane person would ever buy any property where he left his slug-trail.

  17. Pamela says:

Gosh, I am so glad to see you have finally won !!!
I sure am waiting for your new shows to start.
Please hurry, the others still on A&E are sick, all show and no go.
    Congrats Trademake, GO Team !!!

  18. Melanie says:

Fantastic! Congratulations. We really miss watching the Trademark team. Your tips were fantastic, as was your worth ethic. I’m glad you won.

    Southerners are better lawyers

    Website Owner:

After watching a few episodes on A&E, I decided to google some of these guys and stumbled upon this site. I don’t disagree that Armando is probably a charlatan, but do you realize that your criticisms are a bit undermined thanks to Google Ads on your website promoting Armando’s wares? In fact, probably most of the foreclosure investing Google Ads on your site are BS. How do you reconcile making money from these ads with content of your website?

  21. Rob says:

I was hoping we would see you and the gang
back on the Boob Toob soon ?

  22. norma says:

In April 2008 we sent by you office and it sure looked closed up tight! Are you open now that the lawsuit is over. Congrats. Your program and crew are great.

  23. Rachel says:

Congrats Richard! Won the lawsuit and got the girl (Ginger)! Life must be good.

  24. V Fitz says:

Congrats to Team Trademark! I look forward to seeing you all back on the air.

As far as Armando and crew go … They never held a candle to the professionals at Trademark. Armando and his spoiled, whining wife are annoying at best and do very shoddy work on the homes they claim to flip.
